The NICU
It can be really hard to be a NICU parent. There's a lot of uncertainty and fear about your baby's health. Having a premature baby can be a very difficult and stressful experience. Your baby may not be fully developed yet and need a lot of medical care. They might have trouble breathing, eating, or keeping their body temperature stable on their own. You might feel helpless or guilty that you can't do more to help your baby. Seeing your baby hooked up to so many machines all at once and not being able to hold them as much as you want to. It can be stressful to manage work, home life, and spending time at the hospital. No parent should worry about how they will get diapers, clothing, or books for their baby. The only thing they should be focused on and caring for is spending time with their baby or babies who are fighting so hard to stay alive every day.
